If you’re anything like me, you’re a sports fan, but you don’t necessarily own a jersey or have enough accessories in your closet to show your team spirit. A great way to show you pride is through your makeup! It can be tricky and go very wrong if your team has funky colors. You don’t want to end up looking clownish at the bar or while cheering in the stands. No need to worry though, Danielleisms is here to make sure you look your best on game day.

For this LSU Tigers look I chose to use purple as my main color. Purple is very complimentary on all eye colors and most skin tones. I used the yellow in the inner corner to accent the purple. If using yellow scares you, try using a yellow-toned gold for a less bold look . On my lips I used a very sheer, shimmery berry gloss.

I paid tribute to the reigning Super Bowl Champions, the New York Giants, by using medium and deep blues on my eyelids and highlighted my tear duct area and brow bone with a shimmery white. I chose to line my lower lash line with a bold red. Since my eyes have so much color I chose a nude lipstick and shimmery peach gloss. If you prefer not to wear red on the eyes, go for a red lip stain or gloss to show your NY pride.

Game Day Tips:
  • Use a tinted moisturizer or foundation with SPF, especially if you’re going to be outdoors watching the game. If your foundation doesn’t have SPF, be sure to apply sunscreen first.
      • Pick one color to be your focus. I don’t recommend always using all the team colors on your eyes. You can use blush or lip products to bring in accent colors.
      • If possible, work with your skin tone and eye color. If your team colors are blue and orange and you have blue eyes, using a lot of blue eye shadow isn’t ideal. Opt for burnt oranges to make your eyes pop and consider a blue mascara or liner as the accent color. If you’re not sure which colors complement each other, consult a color wheel!

      Product Recommendations:
        • Coastal Scents Original 88 palette is a great starter eye shadow kit with a large variety of colors ranging from funky blues to pretty, shimmery neutrals and is available on Amazon for under $20.
        • Eye shadow primer is key for making your bright colors really pop and last all day and night! Try Urban Decay’s Primer Potion as a base for your eye shadows.

        Pumpkin Pride

Fall is here and pumpkins will soon take their rightful place on porches across the country, but not before they have some major work done. While many keep it simple with a traditional jack-o'-lantern face and toothy grin, others elevate pumpkin carving to an art form with highly intricate designs that express their individuality.

For sports fans who want to immerse themselves in the spirit of the season, try a unique pumpkin carved in the likeness of your favorite team, sport or athlete. With a little imagination, creativity and the right carving tools, the possibilities are endless. Here are a few examples to inspire your pumpkin pride:

        Whistle-Worthy: Maryland & West Virginia's Uniforms

The Maryland at West Virginia game on Saturday was certainly not the most hyped college football game of the weekend, but it was the most interesting to look at. Both teams put on a fashion show of their new uniforms and although they clashed a bit on the field, they each had their own individual appeal. West Virginia's ensemble, courtesy of Nike, is part of a new uniform package that will give the Mountaineers 32 combinations to choose from during their inaugural season in the Big 12. Maryland's "White Ops" uniform, designed by Under Armour, is the newest addition to the team's flashy arsenal.

While a casual observer's initial reaction upon first seeing these uniforms might have been, "What are they wearing?" TSR couldn't help but be impressed by their originality and the willingness of both teams to go outside their standard color schemes. This may not have been the most anticipated match up this past weekend, but it definitely made the biggest fashion statement.

Check out some pictures of Maryland and West Virginia's whistle-worthy uniforms:

What do you think of these uniforms?

        Fan Find: Home Fields

For loyal sports fans, one of the most magical places on Earth is wherever their favorite team plays. Whether it's a stadium, arena or ballpark, it's more than just a home field. It holds the collective hopes, dreams and history of its fans and in some cases, has more notoriety than the team it hosts. Many fans are unable to attend their favorite team's home games and long to see that special place again. Thanks to one unique company, it's now possible to do just that anytime, day or night, without making travel plans.

Home Fields, founded by University of Miami graduate and sports industry veteran Ken Small in 1999, sells replicas of over 100 stadiums, including historic stadiums, for display in your home or office. Each replica is 3-D and creates the optical illusion of a 360° structure. Regular and jumbo sizes are available, and some feature LED lights for a dramatic, nighttime effect. You can also purchase a display case to protect your replica from curious admirers.

Home Fields come in a variety of baseball and football stadiums, both current and historic, including these famous fields:

NFL Green Bay Packers/Lambeau Field Jumbo Lighted

MLB Baltimore Orioles/Oriole Park at Camden Yards Jumbo Lighted

        NCAA Alabama Crimson Tide/Bryant-Denny Stadium

        NFL Washington Redskins/RFK 1965-1996

        MLB Atlanta Braves/Atlanta-Fulton Co. 1966-1996

NCAA Miami Hurricanes/Orange Bowl Stadium 1937-2007

        NFL Chicago Bears/Soldier Field

MLB St. Louis Cardinals/New Busch Stadium

NCAA Ohio State Buckeyes/Ohio Stadium Jumbo Lighted

        What's your favorite home field?

        Fans Flying High

Most airline passengers spend the majority of their time inside a plane and only catch a quick glimpse of the exterior when boarding and exiting. There usually isn't anything particularly interesting about the outside of a plane, but what if you looked out the terminal window and saw one decked out in your favorite team's emblem and colors? Without a doubt, flying would be a whole lot more fun.

US Airways and AirTran Airways have taken team spirit to the next level for select NFL, MLB and NBA teams. With a sizable investment from these airlines (it cost AirTran about $160,000 to paint each plane), fans can fly high in the sky on their ultimate cloud nine.

Check out a few runway snapshots of these fan-friendly, flying machines:

        Arizona Cardinals

        Baltimore Ravens

        Orlando Magic

        Pittsburgh Steelers

        Indianapolis Colts

        Milwaukee Brewers

        Carolina Panthers

        Philadelphia Eagles

Have you ever spotted one of these team-themed planes at the airport?
