Most airline passengers spend the majority of their time inside a plane and only catch a quick glimpse of the exterior when boarding and exiting. There usually isn't anything particularly interesting about the outside of a plane, but what if you looked out the terminal window and saw one decked out in your favorite team's emblem and colors? Without a doubt, flying would be a whole lot more fun.
US Airways and
AirTran Airways have taken team spirit to the next level for select NFL, MLB and NBA teams. With a sizable investment from these airlines (it cost AirTran about
$160,000 to paint each plane), fans can fly high in the sky on their ultimate cloud nine.

Have you ever spotted one of these team-themed planes at the airport?

That is pretty cool! I've never seen those, but I've seen the Southwest Shamu (or orcha) plane in the sky around Tampa since I live by the airport. Hehe.
