New Jersey Nets fans are adjusting to a lot of changes this season - a new name, new logo, new look and not playing in Jersey anymore. On April 30, 2012, after years of planning and speculation, the team officially became the
Brooklyn Nets. This included a complete franchise makeover with new team colors, black and white, and two logos designed by Brooklyn-based rapper and minority-owner
Jay-Z. Despite the sweeping changes, the team's
rebranding was a hit with fans, proven by a sudden, dramatic increase in merchandise sales.
While the
Brooklyn Nets look like a brand new team, they have a long history and many loyal fans, who have the difficult task of shedding Jersey and becoming Brooklyn. One of the easiest ways for fans to start this transition is to literally buy into the team and get geared up, so they can look and feel like part of the Nets' new era.
